HGT Injector problems, kind of

A few days ago, I turn on the ignition and the injector light stays on for 4 seconds which i know suggests a fault, then it goes off for a split second and stays on, cars runs horrible, low idle backfires, then I realise it was the mass air flow at fault, so that has been changed, engine sounds and runs alot better.
but, the injector light is still on for 4 seconds, I read somewhere in the fiat manual it should go out after 0.1 seconds, and 4 seconds means something is wrong. (i think it has always been like this, well since the cambelt change anyway)
Can you mk1 HGT owners do me a favour and check how long it takes for your injector light to go out?

Not sure if this is of help, but I have a MK2 HGT, and the injector light goes off at the same time as the ABS one..

If it's not doing what you think it should be, then book it in for a diag test...

The light coming on for the first few seconds is normal however the fact that it comes back on and stays on
isnt.
After replacing my MAF the light came on after resetting the ECU (I disconected the battery for 2hrs, reconected it, then idled the engine for 5mins) I was quite suprised by this so tried resetting the ECU again (this time I left the battery off overnight) and low and behold the next morning upon reconnecting everything and starting her up the light had gone. Might be worth a try.
