a mate of mine purchased an 8v integrale 3 weeks ago, and last friday ended up buying an hf turbo with 50k for a spares donor car as its in very good cond he basicly is using all the trim interior etc etc, anyway he's offered me the engine loom infact everything to stick it in my uno (if i can be arsed) even his old seats that are 10 times better than my ut seats (Crap) but do i bother as my engine is sweet and have a spare! is it an easy swap (cheap) or will i have to make up special mounts, chop my car to bits, is it realy worth it, or leave it as it is, maybe i could store it for the future? Ant!

A friend did this conversion!

Right, and it was a while ago!

You dont need to chop, but you do need custom mounts.

You need to mod a lot of obvious things such as intercooler and oil cooler locations and pipe work.

I think the routing and piping of the cooland pipes annoyed him for a while as he didnt make diagrams of them before he took it all apart.

He did have issues with his alloys hitting the gear box casing. I think he found a different set that cleared it, either that or he resulted in spacers.

The engine is 140bhp IIRC and shares the same block design as the 1.3 so is strong and you'll notice the extra torque from the additional displacement.

If it were me i would store it (fill it to the brim with oil) and enjoy yours while it works well. Dont turn it down though, whatever you do!

Good engine upgrade but not a straight swap. Fitting the engine is only the start too. you need to plumb and wire it up. Everything will need altering etc.

HF turbo has a twin cam engine design, not based on the 1300. Maybe you were refering to closed deck Tom?

Oh yeah, Delta HF turbocharger is tiny, its similar to an uno 1400. It will make very good power with a turbo upgrade.

Thats right Steve i was, it's apparently just as tough as the mk1 block.
