Hi Adam (joske)

can you help on my air con problem?..used your diagnostic technique from the fiat forum as mines not blowing cold and compressor doesn't appear to be kicking in..outer pulley spins with belt but inner section not moving when air con switch engaged,... lcd display showed 'code C :.' then 'error 00'

is it ok?..or is the compressor dead?

'00' means no fault to do with the electronic side of the climate control system. I recon your car just needs a regas. You may have a leak but a regas with a dye should help you find a leak if there is one.

Typically the compressor stops working when its low on pressure/gas to prevent it getting knackered. To sort this you need to gas it up.

Could be the temperature is too low for the aircon to kick in. Anything below 5C and it wont work.

Could be a fault with the aircon relay, fuse, clutch or switch.

Are you local as i could check the pressure for you?

I'm near Manchester, Bolton.

Kwik Fit will recharge/regass the aircon for £45-£50 and if they can't drop the temperature by X degrees its free. Maybe worth a go. Read the small print first. I also dont know if they use the special dye to detect leaks.
