Any advice?

I have a 500 in bossa nova white with a deep 1 inch scratch on the front wing, Have been to two car sprayers and have received differing advice. One says that the whole wing will need spraying to get a perfect finish and avoid patchiness in the future, the other says they will spray the area needed and then put lacquer over whole panel. The later is going to be cheaper I think, waiting for official quotes.

What should I do? Florence is my pride and joy and want to keep her looking great for as long as possible

I advise anyone to search high & low when looking for the right sprayer as not many can make a perfect colour match without spraying a large portion of the car. I think you should look at previous work theyve done and get some sort of guarantee from them also look for someone thats passionate about their work.

Hi, i had a scratch on my bumper i took advice from youtube clips of smart repairs and did it myself on saturday. I,m very fussy about my paintwork but am 100% happy with results.
First i carefully touched in scratch using dealer touch in paint stick, used a cocktail stick to carefully apply thin layer of colour.
Left to dry 10 mins and then applied clear coat on top.
Left 1 hour to set, then using 2000 grade wet and dry paper and soapy water carefully rubbed across new painted area until level approx 2x 30seconds of careful rubbing, 3" diameter of sanding be confident.
Dry off and check, repeat if needed, this will leave a dull patch on paint
don't worry it polishes out, use t-cut or cutting compound and rub firmly
over repair, buff off once shiny and smooth just polish and wax as normal.
I did this and scratch is not noticeable even shining a led torch can't see any scratch. I spent on and off 2-3 hours.
good luck.:)

Hi, checkout youtube, deep scratch removal (hyundai) to see the full process/ tecnique, it works and no need for respray.
I had a scuff mark, like a brillo pad had been rubbed over 6" area on my drivers door when i bought the car a few years ago, metallic paint.Using cutting compound (no wet and dry this time) and elbow grease i removed marks to leave a deep shine. Paint is now 9 years old and still has a deep shine and no scuff marks.
