I went to the dealers today to get the flashers enabled so I can tell when the car is locked, both keys now do this but one of the keys wont start the car! can I re program this myself if so how?

Dealer said the key was wreck & have ordered a new key to be safe.

Any ideas

Thanks
Martin

You can't reprogram it yourself.

You can start the car with your code card even if the car won't regonize the key. Read the troubleshooting chapter in your manual.

Although I don't see why you'd want to go through all the trouble. The key will be replaced under warranty, right?

Stilo'04, Loden Green, 17" alloys, 8spkr "hifi" system, debadged, tinted windows.

When I bought the stilo as I found out today the blue card is missing with the codes on it [V] anyway the dealer is faxing fiat to get all the info for a new card.

They say they may not able to claim for the key as it is "normal wear"-but as I pointed out to them both keys worked before I let them loose on the car!

Absolute and utter crap.

The dealer should replace the key under warranty without question. I had one fail on me a while back and it was replaced without argument. I was fully ready for a stand-up argument, but they know what problems I've had with my car and how I've dealt with them previously - hence they didn't even question it....

Neil, yes I must admit I have had problems with the car now I must admit not major ones-but the dealer I got it from was crap so I have now moved to a different dealer who knows nowt of the previous problems-but I must admit they are a lot more helpful & they know how to fix the Stilo!!! it must be a first in the last year. As I pointed out to them I came in with 2 working keys - so your man with the computer wrecked the other key :D

Thanks for all the help, they are ringing in the new yr to comfirm the new key is in & that they have the blue card info as the dealer that sold the car to me never gave me the card in with the hand book - I didnt even no it was missing!
