OK guys...

I am in N Irelan & just bought my first Fiat Multipla today (2003) and am having problems so hope someone can help...

Ok, so here it goes...

A fuse keeps blowing - fuse 3 (red 10 amp) according to handbook...says its linked to power supply for side lights amongst other things.

I have main beam ok, but as soon as I start to twist stick to switch on side lights/dipped beam...fuse blows...have tried several fuses...all blown immediately.

The lighting for speedo etc is out too. I assume the side lights/dipped beam have to be switched on to light up dash???

Bulbs in side lights & dipped beam look good & connections look ok (although its dark outside so hard to see all with torch).

Phoned the guy I bought it off & he explained he had the new stereo/dvd fitted last week by halfords & assumed it was something to do with that???But Im not sure???

Does anybody have any idea what my next step would be???

Please bear in mind I am an absolute novice with electrics, so please give me any advice in simple terms as such.

You've got to start somewhere, so I'd take a good hard look at the stereo/dvd power connection, why would someone selling a car fit a new stereo/dvd the week before?
Doesn't sound right to me.

Found it...took of plastic trim to reveal underside of radio...yellow wire running along underside of radio...sleeving damaged so when touchong the metal radio casing it was shorting the lot.

Looks all botched in to me...but working for now so will leave well alone.

milometer keeps resetting

can anybody help? started up my seicento the other day and there is now no power to the stereo and the trip counter and clock now reset every time i turn the ignition key. changed my interior light the other day and think the three wires connected to the light may have touched. not sure if this is the cause. possibly fuses or battery on its way out?
