Hi there Fiat Fans..

Last night I bought me a 2014 Fiat 500L. you all know it comes with a 1.4L Turbo engine. I test drove it and it did awesome. After inspection I bought it and drove it home for 2 hrs on the highway. Parked at the house 2am and went to sleep.

This morning I was so excited to drive it to Downtown to get it registered and licensed.... only to find the motor will only accelerate up to 3,000 RPM and transmission will barely shift to D2.

I Plugged in my OBDII reader and it has P0016 and P0299 codes.

What do you recommend me to star with?

I'm totally new with Fiat... but I am a diesel mechanic so I have tools.

Just guessing but has someone recently fitted a cam belt?
Apart from that some engines have hydraulic/computer controlled valves, which the wrong or dirty oil can give loads of grief.
I am sure if you give exact model details and history etc. someone will advise.
