I got a Lancia Y10 FIRE 999cc from -86.. and my problem...
It just dies on me.. wait for 10-15 minutes, and it starts right upp again..

If I driving it, and it don´t dies on me, turn it off, then its about 10-15 minutes of wait again before I can start it upp again..
WHY???

What part is most possible to blame??

In my opinion, the finned electronic module on the distributor is the most likely suspect. These often fail in a temperature-related manner.

I'm assuming that when you try to restart, you have no hint of 'firing' - have you tried checking a spark plug after 30 seconds cranking to ensure that it is wet with petrol? Leave the spark plug resting against the cam cover and have its lead connected - get a friend to watch for a spark. Also try disconnecting the fuel line from the carburettor and make sure that fuel is gushing out when the engine cranks over.

Disclaimer: fire hazards obviously exist, so be careful that all petrol is mopped up and dried out before checking for sparks. Hold spark plug and lead with insulated pliers. I accept no responsibility for burns/injuries!

Cheers,
-Alex

im assuming its the same engine as the 999cc uno?

If so then I would check the distributor. as alex said, the finned moduel is usualy the cause. or the vacume advance unit on the front.

Does it die randomly and cut back in when your driving atall?

or does it just die and junctions or when you put the clutch in etc?

Thanx to all of you...
changed the distributor and ignition module.. and it´s running perfectly again..
Used it all weekend, not died on me even once on a total of 520Km..
so, thanx again..
