General Help ! my engene is stoping working

Hi all

i have 1.0IE uno,
the car is grate, but i have this problem,
the engene is sudelny stoping to work, it can hapen while i drive (about 100-80 Kmh), and it hapens while i standind too......

this happen about every 5 km drive......

i already ask a few peuple, but nobody know what is it

i put a new fuel pump and fuel filter but it isn't help....


HELP ME PLS !!!!!!!

You're not giving us much to go on. What happens, what are the symptoms?

Fiat Brava 1.6 HSX, Fiat Uno 1.1 ieS.

i cant drive faster..... we have here speed cameras.... :-(

the simptom is very simple, while i drive the car is simply stop work
( like i have run out of fuel).....
most of the times it happen after i drive 80-100 and stop in the red light....

What's the car's temperature when it stops?

Does it stop when idling when hot / cold etc.?

most times it hapen when it hot, but it hapen once at cold engene(in the morning, afret all night whitout work)...

Hi all
i have found the problem !!!!!!


i replase the vacum distributer and modul unit, and did a very good clean to the injector.....

this sove all the problems

mishadbIL, did you follow my advice then and it made it work? I think the vacuum advance pretty much causes this problem?

yes, but it's not only the vacuum , i think thet the electronik modul was not good too

I've been running with a blown vacuum unit for thousands kms and the engine seemed to be working properly...these symptoms are due to a failed module!!

Enzo; all I am saying is that I got often stalling from my car, when this module was replaced, it ran perfectly from then on!

Yes I had the same prob with the module. Had it replaced and runs like a dream now! It seems that this is a common problem.

hi mishadbIL,

today i got the same problems with my uno 1.0 as you have discribed.
the module unit and vacum distributer you are talking about - what is it exactly? i cant emagine what it is...
i do not know the english meanings exactly...
would you be so kind to discribe what exactly you mean...

Find the distibutor on your engine (if it has one:I)...then on the front side you'll see a thingy with a rubber hose connected on going to the carburettor/butterfly body base, this part is the vacuum advance unit!Then on the "rear" side of the distributor you can see a "flapped" piece bolted on, this is the electronic module which provides to "create" the high tension in the coil!

Bolte: I guess the wise decision would be to take your car to an auto-electrician who would have the appropriate equipment to identify the true nature of your problem.
