Punto (Mk2/2b) Help my car has a grinding noise??

Hi just wondering if any1 can help me, when I am accelarating my car is making a grinding noise when I accelarate faster it sounds faster and it grings when I break too, has any 1 had this problem before??
It was just in the garage today to have a new exhast fitted could that have anything to do with it??, replies would be very grateful.

was the grinding noise there before the exhaust change?

if it suddenly appeared after the exhaust change - take it back, they've done something and they should fix it!

however - i've known springs in the rear drums to let go and they drag inside making a noise and often sound worse when braking
