Hey guys, the Bravo is going in to get sorted and I want the car to come & run as quick as FCUK!!

What engine mods or advice can any of you give. Are there any particular brands to stay away from or must have etc

Here is what I have in mind so far:

New cams (not sure what make),
K&N induction kit,

Can you suggest anything else...

I appreciate any feedback...

Cheers

hows about a chip, exhaust, manifold, ported and polished? turbo'd?

Depends if its chippable.
Depends if a manifold is available or cost effective to have made.

No turbo kits are available and turboing an N/A engine is not really good for reliability.

Porting and polishing gives very small gains, polishing gives zero gain most of the time and a poorly done port job will lower power output. A quick cleanup of the ports is all thats needed. Matching the inlet manifold to the head usually results in better gains but is often totally overlooked.

C&B fast road cams and a dastek unichip, 150BHP or thereabouts.

Hey Tom whats this dastek unichip like for the 1.8 then , any more details or link etc ? .

Uxbridge/heathrow area , i found some details on dastek but the only uk place i found is in scotland ?! , no point in just buying it as it needs setting up so really need to see if anyone down this part of the world . Would it make much difference to a std 1.8 as i dont really wanna change cams and all that m'larky ? .

Ok , rang them up and been given the number of a place called prism motorsports based in enfield , anyone got anything good or bad to say about them if anyones dealt with them on here before ? .
