Hi there I'm a complete newbie, I've just recently bought a 2001 seicento sporting and I'm more than pleased with the little guy. I have unfortunately noticed a slight issue with my clutch, basically I'm getting a rubbing sound everytime a release the pedal and the pedal doesn't come up smoothly. It sort of comes up a bit and sticks then I release a bit more pressure and it comes up then sticks and continues all the way up any ideas ?

I was honestly thinking that that was the issue any idea on a price to get it replaced ?

Does everybody think that that is the problem ?

I would try cheapest thing first ;) also I had the exact problem with my seicento only covered about 36k and it started sticking like that eventually it snapped that's when I found out it was clutch cable! I would replace it now

Hi

There are guides and a Haynes manual for the Cinq ...

You could try relubing the cable but t is more likely it is breaking up, and a new cable is cheapish...

Some people remove the passengers seat, easy to do for better access, some people need to loosen off all the dash board plastic fastners and stick in a wedge to move it aft for better access. Dont use a split pn an R clip is better, i.e. easier.

You need a flash light and a pair of long needle nosed pliers to get the R clip back.

Unfortunately the clutch may be on way out as it should be so light to place no load on the cable that the cable lasts for ever...

The clutch is not impossibly difficult to do oneself... when the weather is warmer.

If the clutch is anything but smooth in operation its usually the clutch itself thats the cause, anything else is a consequence.

The only thing I can think of that causes that problem without it being the clutch is a failed earth lead.

Cheers
