Hi everyone!
I'm Rui from Porto, Portugal. I've been browsing this forum for a while and finally decided to register, hoping to get some advice and support from fellow enthusiasts. I own a Fiat Punto Cabrio that turned 30 last year, and it's been with me for over 20 of those years.
I use it daily, mainly to drive my kids around. While it’s running well and passes its yearly mechanical inspections, it’s definitely in need of some cosmetic attention.
Over the years, I’ve replaced several major components to keep it safe and reliable—gearbox, fuel pump, and drive shaft, among others. I’ve also upgraded the stereo system, replacing both the radio and the speakers to improve the sound quality without going overboard.
Recently, I’ve started working on restoring its looks. I installed a new fabric soft top to replace the original, which had tears and a damaged rear plastic window. I also re-stuffed the seats, which had ripped fabric and deteriorated padding.
Throughout all of this, I’ve tried to keep the car as original as possible, respecting its character and charm.
Looking forward to learning from all of you and sharing this journey!
Regards,
Rui
