Hello, just checking in. Found the site a few weeks ago. I've had a 2001 Punto 1.2 for the past couple of years. No complaints. Changing it at the weekend for a 12 month old Panda 1.2. Fancied a change and having driven one a year ago as a courtesy car was really impressed. Nippy and some character. I rate the Punto from 2000 as a class design, especially the mean front headlight detailing. Not sure about the 2003 restyle and it's looking a bit dated now so I went for the Panda instead. What about the brand new Punto? Spotted a few photos in various magazines. They seem to have gone for the bigger look again, large front end and more interior space.
I rate Fiats highly, depsite their bad press and reputation from many. The FIRE engines are cracking considering their age. I remember the original 999cc version was rated highly.
I started off with a 126 'Personal 4' nearly 20 years ago when learning to drive. Didn't own any until the recent Punto but admired the Tipo and Uno as landmard designs, especially the hot 16 valve models. Do you remeber the Tipo one with 'Sediciovalve' or whaterver written across the rear panel? Cool.
Hopefully Fiat have found their way again with the new Panda and forthcoming Punto. That new 500 concept looks ace also.
Only thing I wonder about is why there seems to be so few Pandas on the road, perhaps it takes a while for them to catch on similar to the Ford Ka when they were launched in 96.
Bye for now
