Hi I just put brand new luk clutch kit flywheel including thrust bearing it changes gear ok but there is a grinding noise coming from gearbox
I did put clutch plate right way just to be clear.
Some people say it could be input shaft bearing
It only makes noise when release clutch fully? 1.9 2008 fiat grande punto 6 speed
Any ideas please thanks in advance

First question , was there any noise from gearbox before clutch was fitted?
As normally when foot off clutch in neutral the first motion shaft and lay gear are turning inside the gearbox, which if noise developed after clutch fitted then apart from someone hanging the gearbox off the clutch, or pulling gearbox onto the engine with force, instead of correctly aligning and gently sliding gearbox on to engine spigots etc.then unlikely to cause damage during installation.
If touching clutch pedal or partially disengaging clutch then usually an issue with clutch.
Just to be 100% clear you say "It only makes noise when release clutch fully?" Do you mean fully depressed clutch pedal or fully engaged clutch with foot off the pedal?
If when full pressing clutch pedal to floor it could be a release arm or clutch release bearing issue.

1 no went on fine
2 foot off clutch in neutral
3 yes it did make noise before but assumed wrongly it was thrust bearing hmmmph so all new fly wheel clutch kit including thrust bearing
Sounds like gearbox first motion shaft bearing f*cked,
I would have given the input shaft a spin to check, plus see if any play in it.
If on ramp and in neutral engine running, try using a screwdriver to ear held up against the gearbox casing.
