Hello & Order help!

Hello folks,

I'm a newbie here, and this is my first post. I'm doing my homework before ordering my brand new 500.

The test drive is booked for Thurs so I'm thinking if that goes well then I'll sign on the line.

Spec wise I'm thinking Lounge 1.2, Jive Blue, Chrome mirrors, black windows, blue & ivory interior, 16 inch 5 0 Spoke alloys, side rubbing strip.

Anything you thing essential that I'm missing?

I'm debating ESP, is it worth it? What does it actually do?

Final question, any ideas on delivery time. Helpful no brainer salesman said anything from 10 to twelve weeks, but some take six and others 14. Thanks for that....

All I would say is for the price ESP is, definately go for it, its on my Grande Punto and we ordered it on my sisters 500 1.2 Pop too, its a superb safety feature, and adds Hill-Holder, which can be very useful too.

As for the spec you want, sounds very nice indeed, although I would add front fogs and the electric dipping mirror.

i was debating the spot lights, but for the price I dont think they are worth it. I'm still not 100% about the ESP either, and the Fiat website doesn't seem to want to explain it to me either!

The best way to understand the benifits of ESP is to go on youtube and search for ESP test, then you can see 1st hand how the system can control the car on your behalf in emergency situations.



IMO, there is alot to be said for 5 Ncap stars and lots of airbaggery etc etc etc but ESP can help you avoid an accident in the 1st place, and it would be churlish to not specify it on a brand new car, the cost is pretty low on Fiats too.

And having the front fogs puts something in those 2 bizarre black pods in the lower grille that are there even if you dont have the lights!
