Hello guiys n gals from newbie to fiat forum

Hello there,

Great to be here, will be buying my first ever Fiat soon, its a car for me to run around in this winter while my motor bike is in the garage and my wife uses our main car to transport our baby girl.

I am hoping to find out what any common problems with the fiat cinquecento, i am going to buy a 1993 - 1995 one you know the one with the 900cc engine.

I have read that they can suffer valve gear and rocker wear, but i dont mind replaceing engine componants that dont require major strip down. I will also be looking out for tin worm.

Any advice will be most welcome. Thanks very much look forward to swapping advice info with some of you Fiat fans. Steve

my sister had a cinquecento and the only thing that went wrong was the radiator which the garage mistook for the head gasket blowing! but apart from that she had many a happy mile.

Hello and welcome to the forum! :wave:

Cinqs and Seis are great cars. I would suggest looking at the Sporting versions with th 1108cc FIRE engines as well. Aside from being more powerful, the engines are also more economical being of a modern design. Plus the 1108cc models are that much more fun to drive.

However if you find a minter 899cc 'Cento then go for it
