It's really nice to see an international forum dedicated to the Fiat, the most famous Automotive Group in Italy.
Since December 10th, i'm a Fiat owner, i'm italian, here it's so common having a car of this group. Our fathers, our grandpas, at least once have had a Fiat.
My father had a Green Bottle 3-door Fiat 127, a Fiat 850 Coupè, and he sometimes tell me that they weren't so good because of low quality, in general.
But despite his statements, I found a thirdhand Fiat Palio Weekend, light grey (a so common color in Italy for this car), with original 56'000 miles on tachimeter.
It's 1.2 litre 8V Fire engined, one of the best engine made by Fiat. So strong, if you don't care about checking engine oil or coolant, you have not to worry so much about that: the engine will be alive for a long time anyway. So now i'm quite happy about my Palio, I passed recently something similar to the MOT (in Italy we have the "revisione del veicolo"), and now I took her to the mechanic for the vehicle service. Just wait some days and she will be perfect, and next steps are: adding foglights and repainting the rear bumper (plastics are discolouring) and the rear plastic/rubber stripes.
I hope to meet here some enthusiast of this Group, of this car, and why not, maybe there are other italians like me here!
