Hello from Indiana

Just purchased a 1979 spider 124. It had the bumpers deleted, so I'll need to find front turn signals... I drove it over 230 miles in the first 24 hours, and honestly, she runs great... two things, I can't figure out:
1. Wipers work, but VERY slow
2. I have a headlight toggle on the dash, but what does the longer stalk on the column do (the one behind the turn signal?
Other issues: no blower for defogger, and I'm told the heater controls are not connected...
