After 25+ years of motoring I have bought my first Cinq. Imola Blue Sporting. And damn fine it is too....if a tad HEAVY on the steering (7 years of power steering I tells ya :yuck: ). Gotta love this little car, it really does turn heads when I toodle down the main street in her. I even look up at the Boy racer Corsas and Cleos...that really bakes their noodle when the see the size and cuteness of the Cinq.

I'm looking forward to treating her with the TLC she deserves. One quick question though (Noob mode = ON), what temperature should she be running at normally? When I picked her up yesterday see stayed at around 50 deg on the motorway for 200 miles. Today she ran at 90 in town, the fan kicked in then went off again...still sat at 90. Is this a worry?? Hiding behind sofa in case of bad news reply... :D

Gotta love this car though, best fun I have had since I had a 1312 mini.

Hello fellow n00b :D I don;t know the asnwer either. I have a question though: what colour is imola blue exactly?

Its a purple/blue with orange exterior bits.

Bloomfieldliam and j333_evo have imola blue cinqs

Mase had one which is now owned by j333_evo

You can check the gallery for pics of those i imagine :)

I did 'google image' it but nothing came up proper, will have a look in the gallery. You could have provided me with a direct link ;)

hehe - thanks :) I did try and look up those other users but found holidays in New York instead ;) Is that imola blue a rare colour then? Can't say I;ve ever seen any Puntos in that colour.

Sorry - I'm hijacking Furballs thread now

Well it was a standard colour choice in cinq sportings only, not sure it was available on other models of fiat models deffo not on a seicento. its rare in the sense that there are tons of red and yellow cinqs about, but not a rare colour

I think you'll find it was a cost option on late Cinq Sportings only.

Hi BTW!

Thanx for the greetings guys, I don't mind really hijacking my thread LOL. Good to find these forums. :)

hello

seeing as no-one answered your original question, i wouldnt worry about it running at 90 in town, the fan kicks in like it should, any higher and maybe an issue

i have noticed on my cinq that the fan dont really do much to the temp guage, but it must be doing something right to keep coming on and going back off

will run cooler on motorway cause it be sucking in more cold air

goodluck with the cinq, have just got myself an imloa cinq a few weeks back, it my play car :D

Welcome to FF

90 is fine for around town, my Sei's fan use to kick come on when I was waiting in Mc Donalds drive thru queues but on the open road or motorway it never came on.... You must remember in town you are behind other cars which are pumping out hot exhaust gases which your car is in turn pulling in and that causes the temp to rise ever so slightly and then sitting still with no air flow the fan will come on, no worrys!

Enjoy the forum

Adam

Thanks guys for the advice (y) Yes the fan does kick in nicely at 90 (y) and Im having fun in it now that I've increased the rear tyre pressures up from the 17psi they were sitting at
