Hello, I am a new Fiat 500 driver and new to this forum – I havealready posted a couple of questions in another section and see that there ismuch information on this site. I love my new Fiat 500 – a lovely sweet car butI have so many questions regarding it – little car but big learning curve.
My main question is about servicing:
I think Fiat recommends this is carried out but how do I knowwhen the car needs servicing? I assume after certain mileage or does a ‘servicing’sign appear on the dashboard? I think perhaps it is a spanner symbol???
Ive also noticed a little clunk noise when I lift my feetoff the brake and a vibration/rattle noise across the dashboard – appreciate thatthe fiat 500 is small but should there be a vibration – I suppose it could belinked to variations in road surface - hasanyone else experienced these noises?.....it has less than 20,000 miles…I couldlive with the noise but think that if it is something that should not happenthen I should have it looked at by the dealer, correct?

Think you can go into MENU and check under Service to see how many miles are left till it's due.

Also the schedule is in the handbook, page 149 onwards. Can download the manual from here if you don't have one:

Thank you Fox and Wolf - this is very helpful.
It's a 1.2 engine.
Thanks for referring me to the car mene - I did it and I found the number -
that appears there is 16,203 miles - which I assume relates to the mileage for the next service?
However, when I purchased the car from dealer it already had 17,000 miles on but there is no service stamp in the service schedule so I am wondering if this number above related to the next servicing and whether or not the dealer carried this out at 16,203 miles! It's now well over this!

If you drive the car the amount should go down as I'm fairly sure it's how many miles left until it needs servicing. If it was overdue I think you get a message on your dash saying it's overdue.

Your first service was due at 18,000 miles or 30,000 kilometres. So should have been done by the dealer if they sold it with 17,000 on the clock (give them a ring and make sure they did, and if they did MAKE sure they stamp your book). Your next service is due at 37,000 miles or 60,000 kilometres. So if the service menu readout says 16,203 miles i'm assuming your cars actual mileage is 21,000 miles ???

thank you - this is so helpful - i called the dealer and low and behold they had not stamped the servicing booklet but had serviced the car! I am actually taking th ecar in to chave a rping noise on brake looke at and also some horrible vibrations acros sthe dashboard - not sure if vibrations at about 20 to 30miles an hour are common in fiats - i assume a small car and the way roads are, bumpt etc, this is not uncommon.....
