Seicento Hello Anybody came across this before?

I have a probelm with my fiat seicento 1.1 sporting 2001,speedo meter doesn't work and powersteering symbol goes on and off as well as that the mileage meter has stopped, i would imagine they are all connected but when i inticate and brake sharply the speedo jumps up briefly and then the powersteering symbol flashes,any idea how to fix? i've been :bang: trying to find cause but don't want to take to a garage if it a easy fix.

I'd be having a look at the earths around the column/dash area.

Remove them, clean, abrade and refit.

Hi Kyle, welcome to the forum.

Sounds to me like it might be a bad earth somewhere, I'd start by checking them in the engine bay. I can't remember how many there are or where but I reckon rallycinq or fingers99 will know

My powersteering light comes on when I start the car (seicento s) i have to turn it off and on so it goes off, did you find the problem to yours? cheers

i had a similar problem, my speedo stopped working, as did my tripometer, then my car felt very jerky towards the left. 3 days later, speedo worked fine, tripometer worked fine and the 'jerkyness stopped' a garage told me it was the sensor or something behind the gearbox and failing power steering column. but its fine now lol

Similar happened to me after finishing work, the light came on and the steering felt heavy, when i got home (after a cup of tea, obviously) i started the engine and the power steering was fine after that, haven't had a problem with it since..
