Hey everyone!
I've visited this site in the last 6 months reading some very interesting posts and finally decided to join.
My name is Karl, I am 26 and currently own a 2010 Fiat500 1.4 Sport, which is my 3rd car. Previous car history: my 1st: a '95 Renault Clio 1.4 RT, and my 2nd: a 2001 Ford Fiesta Black. Other than that I had a brief stint with a 2006 Renault Megane courtesy car, and occaisionally drive my Mum's 2003 Ford StreetKA.
Ever since the new 500 was announced, I have been keen to own one for its sheer looks alone, and once the time came to trade in my pretty knackered Fiesta, the 500 was the first (and only) car I test drove. Having only really driven the above cars before, I was quite taken aback by how comfortable the car was to drive, how LIGHT the steering was and also how quick it was in Sport mode. A big step up from my 1.25 I was driving!
Now 6 months down the line, I still love my car as much as when I got him (I call my car Buddy). I won't lie, there are a few niggles that frustrate me (no light in the boot, the seats really squeak sometimes, and a Blue&Me issue with my TomTom2 Live I've mentioned in another thread) but he is a joy to own!
I hope to enjoy this forum, particularly the restoration threads as I have always had an interest in Fiat cars. Possibly influenced by a previous neighbour who used to buy loads of old Fiat's and do them up, including Strada's, many X1/9's and an Orange 850 Sport.
Anyway thats enough rambling for now! I'll add some pics of my car to show you all, and chat with you soon.
