General Heater fan squeaks

Hey guys,

When I turn the heater fan switch on, either on hi or low it causes a loud irritating noise. Any ideas to what may be causing it? It's a 79' Fiat Spider Automatic. Thanks in advance.

It's complaining because of the auto transmission. Really, it's probably a bad bearing or bushing on the fan motor shaft. A replacement is needed.

Had the same issue with my 82. I realized that as I was replacing the clips that hold the lower heater assembly to the upper I forced it too tight. The fan blade was spinning against the housing. Try loosing the lower assembly by bending some slack in the clips on both sides. The lower heater assembly is what moves up and down as you move the selector lever from dash vent to lower heat.
