heat shield

The heat shield on my down pipe is rattling very badly.
Will it hurt or do damage if I were to take it off??
If so how much to replace it and is it an easy job??

What engine is your car? And is it the heat shield on the exhaust or the one attached to the car?

Just tighten the bolts up. 5min job.

Its there for a reason and that reason is to protect everything in your engine bay froma red hot exhaust.

Could swear I never seen no bolts. Will have a look in the morning when light again. Off to loughborough now,just have to turn cd player up to drown out heatshield noise
