Headlight washers

This may seem like a silly question but how do you get the headlight washers to work cos i cant find a seperate button and they dont seem to work when i use the windscreen washers.

They only work when your headlights are on, they spray when you spray your windscreen jets...

Don't worry your not the first to ask, and i doubt you will be the last
