Hello,

I recently bought and installed a new sport headlight kit on my 1973 fiat 500. Everything works the way it should but I didn't get any instructions on how to wire up the relays that came with the kit. I could just run it the way it is but I've read that the new headlights will heat up the wires to the point where they'll eventually fail. I was wondering if anyone knew how to install the relays or if there is a diagram online somewhere that I can't find and just use that.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Don't know where you read that but the wires will only take the power required by the bulbs. E.g. A 60 watt bulb on 12 volts will draw 5 amps. Unless there is a fault in which case the current will rise until the bulb blows. The fuse is the protector for both cable and relay and no electrical system should be installed without a fuse. Whatever amp rated cable you are using take 5 off it and that wants to be your fuse rating. Make sure the relay has the same amp rating as the cable.

Thanks for the information, all of it makes very good sense. My real question was how to install the relay though and if there was some kind of guide or diagram somewhere on the internet so I could do it myself. I've been searching but I haven't found anything. I might just have to take it to a garage somewhere and have them do it for me.
