Uno headache

:bang: hi all new member here, my wife bought a 1100 uno and now its left to me to try sort out the problems what razed its head after buying it and i could use your combined expertise in this matter.
first of the problems is the brakes seize up after driving in traffic i release the nipples on the front calipers and then i can drive further untill same problem
Second electrical flicker lights work then don`t you can hear the flicker unit but no lights but the hazzards work
help please help me be my wife's hero lol

An occasional problem with old brake hoses is that the internal structure fails, and creates its own little valves, like the ones in our arteries. This prevents the fluid returning to the master cylinder, holding the brakes on. If this is your problem, new front hoses are required.

The electrical problem is cheaper, but more involved. There are several earth points in the engine bay, behind the headlights I think, each side, plus possibly one at the rear of the engine bay. These are like a star of connectors bolted to the car. They need removing and cleaning the contacts and contact face where it connects to the car. Also a good idea to do the same with the main earth cable from battery to engine and body. Hopefully that fixes the electricals.

Mine needed new hoses as they had collapsed, causing uneven braking, now with a new caliper, pads and hoses good as new.
