head unit run on 12v?

Why dont you get the feed from the 12v on the back of the fag lighter like I said?
yes the hu supply is 12v and will have a switched live, perm live and neg just like the fag lighter.

yes daz. ill put the positive on the yellow wire and negative on the red (reversed)

I would run a seperate wire from the cig lighter as Dan has said...just to be on the safe side.

Oh and don't put Positive on Yellow, Negative on Red for god's sake...

They are both LIVE!

I think Red is the ignition and you will need to use the black (negative)...
