head unit message

What does it mean when the radio comes up with
the message "mechanic" when the cd changer (MCD46) is selected using the source button. CDs won't play because of this. All standard Fiat fit stuff.Grateful for any help. Steve

Do birds flybackwards?

I think the Cd changer is buggered
as the message "mechanism" means there is
a prob with the mechanism. Before it was "surface" and would still function on some tracks now it won't work at all.

Halfords can do a replacement Sony 6 CD changer which can be used with the H3 head unit for £179.99 as the changer has software for the fiat head unit apparently. Anyone fitted or had fitted a Sony changer in place of the Grundig MCD46?

it doesnt say mechanism it says mechanic, as in call out a mechanic, maybe the message should be "big hammer"

mayb it wants to say "mechanical error" but it doesnt fit,

mine says TOC error when it screws up.
