head unit losing memory

well everytime i turn my car off the head unit resets to its origional settings, meaning i have to adjust the eq again and again, i once saw on this forum how to wire it to avoid that but i cant seem to find it, please help guys, its driving me crazy, by the way its a sony unit. please help. thanks

Swop the permanent live & ignition lives wires over...

The red & yellow wires..

this is on the cars wiring system right, or on the head unit itself

Both...

The head unit has red & yellow wires, and the car wiring has the same...

Usually they plug in like for like.. but swop them instead..
