well thats it ,
Head gasket is gone.Prts are ordered now i need to sort fan.Temp warnind light doesnt work on turning the key but if i go and pull single wire from sensor in the back of the head driver side and short it out the light illuminates so the bulb is working. Dissconnected plug from sensor on side of radiator shorted it but fan still doesnt turn. The fan is a replacement not long in and it worked fine on bench test before fitting.can someone tell me what these sensors are known as I thought rad one was coolent temp and head one would have been switch sender.Need ideas on direction of the feed ,ie does coolent temp then go to head sensor which then lights warning light and then powers the fan or what.

Cheers:bang:

Radiator fan sensor switch is just that, a switch. Its two pole, power in and power out to the fan. Check the earth to the fan, lay in an additional earth, just as a trial but be prepared to leave it there.

The coolant light switch switches to earth. You know the earth is OK, because you've earthed the wire against the block. It has a supply that just needs the earth to complete the circuit. It gets that when the switch 'switches'

Cheers

does this mean there basically two seperate circuits then excessive heat in head trips the light, excessive rad temp cuts fan and the two run seperate or is there a link ith the lot.Temp light deffo lights on start up?
