Mine drives all over being thrashed. Starts first time every time.

Take it to work and it refuses to start for the home journey. This is the 2nd time it's refused to start after being taken to work. It's never not-started on me if I drive it anywhere else.

Does it think it's above commuting?

Either that or it's had enough of your work place

It's only been about 4 times. Used to go daily when I was working 24x7 shifts and never missed a beat. Apart from the day it rained hard and cut out with damp HT leads on the way home. I'd just finished my 4th 12hr nightshift and couldn't remember where I was when I had to call the AA :ROFLMAO:

Ok I dunno if I've looked at another car or something because she's really upset with me. Left me stuck at the petrol station.

With a bump start she springs into life. So the engine seems ok.

Turn the key and I got nothing apart from a dimming of the dash lights. It only seems to do this while hot. Could that be a problem with the starter motor as I'm not getting any cranking, or even an attempt to crank. The battery is reasonably new and the car cranks fine when cold.

Battery completely flat today. think it's where i wired the heated rear window in, though couldn't jump start it with my dads astra, don't think it could provide enough power, as some power was getting through just not near enough, going to try and get my dad to bring back the jump pack from work tomorrow during his lunchtime or whenever he gets a chance.(n)

Maybe it's protesting because i didn't take it for the autocross thing on the airfield this morning.

Well update:

Started it outside the house fine, ran perfect all the way to the motor factors. Where it promptly failed to start. The bloke came out to have a look and as the lights dipped when it tried to start - but no clicking said it's almost certainly starter motor on the way out. Tried it again and after a few seconds of holding it in the start position it eventually decided to try to crank... and so burst back into life.

Seems I'll be £70 + fitting lighter by the end of tomorrow.
