Hi all,
Have a Tipo on an "n" plate, handbrake doesn't work on one side, any suggestions? anyway of manually adjusting the cable?

now if i remember rightly(its been that long since i've had drum brakes lol) take the back drum off to expose the brake shoe's. there should be a little cog like screw twist, opening the shoes until you can just put the drum back on.

i would also get new hand brake cables if it was me

as i said aint done it in ages so cant remember exactly hope this helps though

What size engine is your Tipo?

The self adjuster should turn the cog to take up any slack. What condition are the brake cables in? Replacing them isn't a hard job, just fiddly and time consuming. Best thing is to take the drum off and have a look around inside. Remember an 'N' plate is about 10 years old and probably on original drums and possibly shoes! Check for a big lip on the inside of the drum. The self adjusters are fragile, fiddly things - wouldn't be suprised if its broken.
