I'm pretty sure a Serento is a Kia? Unless you mean a Seicento.
Either way, no reason why it would damage the electronics as people have been putting ham radios in their cars for years. I think MR PANDY and @Most Easterly Pandas will be able to advise better.

As long as it's wired in correctly (correct +ve and -ve feed) you'll be fine
