i went to halfords they checked drain it was 0.3 no drain on car so he took cdplayer out n fitted a free battery in car and now wait to see if i just had a flat battery problem but pisssed me off cos my bf sed the aa man sed it was 3 amp drain but there wasnt when he chdecked first nknow there was when he put a new battery on so i wonder if he read it wronf aa are w***ker s**t heads lol so im not happpy
no music but if battery fine we will put cdplayer bk in n if battery goes then it def cdpalyer so hopes it not n that the aa got it wronf in total free battery halfords no cost what so ever

this sistuation happened to me a few months back, i was wondering why my car wouldnt car after i left it at a stand still over night.

it kept happening to me everyday so i decided to call a car electrition (£50 an hour), he check the battery and found a 1amp drain when the car is switched off. he sed.. and i quote "if you got a new battery and left your car at a stand still for a week it will b flat"

after 10mins we then found out that it led to my stereo, this is becuase when i switched off the ignition my stereo would still play.

All he did was change my earth cable from the stereo to a different location and then after that it never happened again.

Try and find a different earth and see what happens, dunno if this will help.

if the stereo is draining the battery it may be wired up so that it can be left switched on when the ignition is off.

this means the stereo has been wired up only to the permanent live and not the ignition.

at halfords they arent very bright so i think they may have wired it up like this because the live and ignition wires are reversed on many fiats. rather than swapping the wires over they have wired both the igniton and live wires on the stereo to the car's live wire.

this means the stereo does not switch off when you turn off the ignition. wire the stereo correctly and it should be fine. and never go to halford again.

Jug, some MK2 puntos only have a live feed from the battery. no ignition feed.

lol well i went halfords yesterday they put new battery in for free cos there was a halfords battery in there the man from aa sed the was a 3 amp drain but i think he lyed cos there werent when halfords checked
and then today we had the cdpalyer put bk in he check for drain when cdpalyer was in ther n it was 0.3 so il see tomo if my car wont start we know it cdpalyer
butt i might be i had a fualty battery
so fingerscrossed i think it was battery nothign else cdplayer is fine
