Well when i first got my car new from the garage the car was great but the after customer service was terrible. My car was fine for a few months then started to go wrong anyway to cut a long story short I transfered dealerships to get my car fixed. Remember my first dealer kept telling me my car was fine. My new dealership has stated I have a big problem and the engine and exhaust system may need replaced.

1st dealer changed from fiat to kia and took the fiat brand away so it looks to me they dont like fiat, new dealer is a fiat and abarth dealership.

anyway here is the problem.

1. Car burns loads of oil 1l to every 1000 miles was told by the first dealer that my car is fine it was supposed to do this. YEA RIGHT. Anyway new dealer says this is not right and any fiat cars that do, do this should get the car checked.

2. MPG 6 - 24 city, motorway 24-32mpg. remember mine is the 1.4 active 90bhp. Again was told this is fine, my new dealer says nope it should be around about 35-45mpg.

3. knocking noise in suspension, again told by first dealer the car is fine. YEA WHAT EVR.

4. Exhaust gone. 1st dealer said nothing wrong with it. 2nd dealer said the exhaust has a hole and cat has gone on the car but i will explain why later down.

5. rear brake lights were not working but because the worning light was not on the first dealer like usual said there is nothing wrong. 2nd dealer said the electronics in the car are fried.

6. oil smell in exhaust fumes and through vents.

anyway there is alot more first dealer like usual said the car is fine nothing wrong with it. BUT GUESS WHAT the second dealer still has my car and is now day 2. they have stated there is a crack in the block that was caused but the block overheating. I was also told that the engine oil pump was not working properly and therefor caused the car to ever heat and die. Ontop of this i was told that the oil was getting through the pistons and burning away with the fumes which caused the cat to die and hey presto smell in exhaust.

Anyway i have been told they may order a new engine for the car or scrap the car and provide me with a new car. seems ashame if they scrap my baby its my first ever car and had since new. BUT IT IS THANKS to thoughs idiots that did not do there job properly (garage no 1). Second one is fantastic they are really helpful (richard Hardys) The best thing of all the have gave me a curtersy car (FIAT Grande Punto Abarth) yea. Its my next car if they cant fix it.

Wow mate!! It seems that you are one of those unlucky guys that gets the 1 in an million "crappy" car! It happens to every brand of cars. I hope it all shorts out and you get to enjoy your bravo

yea trust my luck pass my driving licence when i was 20 and get a brand new car that has to be the bad one out of the lot. I am going to demand a new car. I have lost faith in the car i have and so be it. I love the bravo as if it was my own kid, I love the looks, I love the way it sounds well did sound LMFAO.... I just hope things do sort them selfs out and in the mean time im loving this abarth more and more.... even the turbo on it sounds so nice.... apparently im the lucky one it is the only punto abarth thay have for loan.

well after 2 days in the garage finally got car back i missed her.

well hear is what they fixed

1. brake pads and brake disks renewed should not off been past by the first garage through service.

2. oil burning and smell was due to breather pipe from crank case was not connected again should not off been passed but supprise supprise it did from the 1st garage.

3. brake lights not working due to internal fault from brake pedel to light parts been ordered and will be fitted on the 23/03/ but what shocked me is it came up on there computer straight away but like usual first garage said there was nothing wrong.

4. knocking noise on suspension is due to worn anti roll bar and bush's been getting this noise for 1 year. first garage said nothing wrong with the car. second garage said it needs replaced.

anyway ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU TO RICHARD HARDY THEY WERE FANTASTIC AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

keep away from benfield motors they dont have a clue how to fix a car.

Glad to hear its finally fixed, I have just bought my new 2.0 diesel from Richard Hardie at Silverlink and they were great to deal with. :)

how old is this car

sounds a bit fishy as a garage would tell you there was nothing wrong with car as they wont be making much money!

You often find that chained garages just want sales and don't care much about aftercare. If the car was new (as the OP stated), most of the work would be covered under warranty, I'd of thought, so the first garage the OP describes won't have made any profits from any additional work.

The car is 2 years old and i have had it since new. But benfield just told me it was all in my head. apprently because benfield no longer sells fiats in the northeast they just dont have the people that speclise in fiat cars so as far i am know they try to get the car out as quick as possible. but richard hardy sorted it out for me.

ARHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH front suspension just collapsed cant believe it. richard hardy told me this would happen because benfield did not replace antiroll bar and shocks but the parts to fix it has not arrived yet. dam benfield,

since last time i posted my clutch needs replaced,
gearbox need fixed the problems just keep on coming.

Up to now i feel that fiat does make good cars but if the dealers dont fix the problems when they first arrive it just gets worse. If you buy a car dont DONT go to benfield motors keep away from them.

good bye fiat bravo  im getting rid of it. had enough off the problems and im staying away from another fiat. sorry guys but the amount of problems ive had is enough to last me a lifetime. I love the looks off the car, Its my first ever car and richard hardys has been great to me. I would still tell people to buy the bravo just i have had enough.
