Hi Guys,

I have just ordered an Abarth 3 door and awaiting delivery. I am not expecting it very quickly from reading other comments.

I had alot of problems ordering the car as the Stilo specifications are changing. Basically the Abarth is down spec-ed but costs £500 more. I could not have anthracite velour or metallic black. They have stopped these. You also only get one remote key fob and the passenger seat is not height adjustable. They don't do chrome shadow alloys anymore either.
I have read that there is a much faster GT version coming out in May with a manual version with the 2.4L engine. I have heard 220BHP rumoured. Perhaps someone has better info. though.

One thing that puzzles me is how the integrated phone works and calls get charged. Does this work off your existing mobile's sim card or is this a separate sim and mobile number? Can someone explain?

Abarthman,

You need to supply a sim card and your billed as normal, nothing to do with Fiat. I also heard about the GT model but heard it was going to be the same engine lower spec but manual.

So what wheels do you get now?

Thanks for that. Would I need to take the SIM out of my mobile and insert it into a slot in the car or can it communicate with my SIM whilst it is in the phone?

The alloys are the plain silver ones now but I went for the 17" upgrade.

I went for the moire metallic black but Fiat have not confirmed if I can have this colour. They did offer me a different black but if you look on the Fiat UK website you cannot select black now at all.

Yes you will have to remove you sim card from your mobile phone.

What I did was take out another contract and leave the sim in the car then set my mobile to divert when switched off into the car.

Which works great.

However I know this would not be a good solution for all, because of the extra cost.

:)

Hi guys,

The manual Stilo Abarth goes on show at Geneva next month. As far as I know the spec is the same except it's a 5-speed manual (I personally think the Abarth needs a 6-speed 'box). I've checked the Fiat website and you're right, metallic black no longer appears as an option although the anthracite interior does. My Abarth is metallic black and has the shadow alloys (only 16" though) but the new options list shows chrome alloys for the Abarth. Is this the same thing or have they really gone down the shiny route? I personally think the metallic black looks really nice especially in sunlight as it gives off a purple hue, I'm surprised Fiat have stopped it. Does this mean that my (relatively) rare 3 door Abarth is now even rarer? Will this help come trade in time? (Alas I think not!)

Jon

Yes I know it still shows the velour and the chrome shadow but they won't let me order them.

I hope I can get the moire black as the purple haze sounds nice.

Are you sure it is a manual Abarh. I was told it was just a GT version without the Abarth trim.

Yep! Definitely an Abarth. Check out www.italiaspeed.com

This is a European launch and the UK version may be badged differently. The European Abarths have a lower spec anyway so it's difficult to tell if the UK manual will be specced differently to the Selespeed.

BTW if you note on Italiaspeed they have the Stilo slotted for a facelift next year and to be replaced in 2007.

I checked with my dealer and it seems the UK 2.4 manual is going to be badged 'GT' and will have a lower spec. Apparently it's already in the UK price lists.

There is also supposed to be a 'new' metallic black coming (how new can it be?) but I don't have any other details.

I have now been told that my car will be the new metallic black and not the moire metallic black. I'll let you know if the purple haze has gone in this colour.

Still awaiting delivery. 6 weeks gone now.

The Abarth is finally arriving today. Can't wait. It has taken about 9 weeks. I'll put some pictures on the web soon. I'll see if i get any problems with the selespeed and remember your tips on repeatedly closing the driver door if it locks up.

The best thing to do with your mobile phone is to go to your provider and ask for a second sim card. With some contract the are for free and sometimes you have to pay for a second card. Use your second sim card in your car. When you use your car switch off you mobile phone and you will recieve your calls in your car. (Also voice mail).

The most beautiful is that your phone in your car works with voice commands. So you really can call hands free by just pushing one button on your stearing wheel and say who you want to call.

I have had a nightmare time trying to track down some info for those of us on O2. I am trying to get two simcards for the one phone number and have been told that of all the providers on the O2 network (foolish me only though there was O2, but no! O2 Online, O2 Direct, O2 Uk....) only O2 UK do it. As soon as I work out how on earth to get hold of them I will publish the details.

Fiar Stilo Abarth 3dr. Loden Green, Beige Leather, Sky Window, Cold Climate Pack, 17" Alloys, CD Changer. Anticipated Delivery Mid June.

Well still no luck with O2! They did however say that it is something they hope to be able to offer in the next six months (if Vodafone do it then I can imagine O2 will want to be able to compete).I might have to buy a cloning system. Vodafone on the other hand offer the system of two sim cards one number as an option without any hassle. Orange and TMobile do not do it full stop.
