Regarding the dual sims question back up a bit - my main phone is a corporate one on a company tarrif, so we were able to do it through that (it was a LOT cheaper than getting a car kit fitted!).

I've noticed that the mike isn't particularly good at picking up my voice unless I talk up at the ceiling (the mike's in the little roof console), but so long as I don't talk downwards or mumble, it seems to do a pretty good job. This may create extra problems for quiet short people, but I have height on my side! :D

i find the phone functions very well too, even better than hands-free kits.

one problem though is that sometimes when i slot in the sim-card, the system doesn't seem to recognise the sim card's in. it responds by indicating "missing sim card" when its already in... just when i was ready to take it back to the dealer, it returned to normal. I've had this happening to me twice actually. but now it seems to have settled down and has worked well...touch wood!

overall, i'm pleased with the system

me again guys,

one other observation, when you lower the additional cabin-mirror (to observe the passengers), in my case it almost always obstruct the mike from my line of sight (and my voice too). that's when i sometimes get "you sound far away honey!" from the missus (she's on the other end...). solution? simple...flick the mirror back into it's slot and i always get "aaah, that's better" response.

any of you experienced anything similar...or mebbe i'm the "quite short" one?:D...only joking.

I haven't used the mirror as the baby seat faces backwards so you can't see him anyway. By the way how come your English is so good.

Just thought, as the car is Italian how come there are any rear view mirrors on it at all. I thought they didn't care what was going on behind them :D

well poggy, it's the result of six+ years of A-levels and an engineering degree Down Under mainly...besides, english is widely spoken here anyway.

today's been quiet as the latest posting noted...guess everybody's getting to grips with their ulysse? over here...things are fine. i'm using it for weekend drives with the family. will be using it for a 1000km return trip up north soon, so will be keeping a close eye on the consumption meter then.

generally i find the comments here indicate that the JTDs are slightly more economical than the petrol units, true? only thing is i thought the figures should have easily been in the 40+ mpgs region...perhaps it's my biased expectation of JTDs. After all, i don't think the malaysian agent is bringing in any JTDs, reasons for which i'm at a loss to explain.

oops, its me again...i tot i was on the "consumption" thread until it was too late. sorry for the mix-up.

talk 'bout the gsm which is part of the head unit of the sound system, i'm realising that the sound stage of the ulysse is very good (compared to other cars i've had b4 of course). it is further enhanced by the quiet cabin, so i'm enjoying my drives with the ulysse now even more...

Well I'm impressed, but you can't have learnt it "Down Under", I was there for a few weeks and they don't speak English !!!!!

yeah mate...they speak this strange "strine" slang as most people would call it...one other thing i didn't tell you, i had an english expat boss for four years until recently, so that helped...he was so good, i'm probably better than him now! he, he, he...:D
