I'm probably thick but have sliced the carpet under the rear seat expecting the changer to pass through the available slot. Not only does it not fit through but also the seat hinge obscures the opening.

Can anyone explain whether I need a mounting kit etc (couldn't find help in existing threads)

No fitting kit is available that i know of. Its not difficult. I used strong velcro strips to hold the CD changer in place.

You are installing the CD changer by lifting the rear seats (or better still remove the rear bench) and sliding it under the metal lip to the opening in the middle. Your basically going from behind and under if you get what i mean.

Your not trying to push the CD changer through the hole you just made are you? Now that would be silly. :)

Thanks - yes it would be, but does the front of the unit just butt up against the metal upright?

Well not too close as you wont be able to operate the front sliding door if its pressed up against the metal. But its as good as. Some of my old pics. I had a Sony T69 changer but the Grundig 6cd changer works there perfectly.
