Before i start im not having a go at fiat or the dealer this one is more than likely down to me......

Driving home tonight noticed the rear screenwash was only putting out a dribble of water :bang:

so tonight started on the long haul in the dark of tracing the fault.....

started at the bottle

checked the pumps output by removing the rear hose and yes it was putting out plenty of fluid in the correct direction.....

so then checked the hose in teh engine compartment (they must have cut mine short as it had 2 inline connections ) anyhow both these were still clear and a back blow with the compressor forced the fluid out of the pipe (which was still off the pump well enough)

anyhow was about to call it a night when i got my sandwich bag out of the boot and had a bit of screen wash dribble out of the holes :bang:

so poped the brake light out still connected and no leaks..

so had a rummage round and Found the boot well full of screen wash :bang::bang:

Anyhow in the past i had fitted some strobes in the back window (needed them at one point) but removed them when i stopped doing that job.. and had removed all the wiring. (which was run through the boot tubeular grommet ) so whether i had disturbed something back then (the lights have been out 12 months) i'll never be 100% sure

but once i had found the leak (nice dayglow yellow/green screenwash makes tracing leaks easy)

i peeled back what was left of the loom wrapping to find this

needless to say i have a repair job to do now managed to find a pipe connector in the garage and have wrapped the cable with tape for now but will repair it better on friday,,,,,,

Still look on the bright side, Autobalming the spare wheel well has given it lots of protection from your dribbling screenwash (y)

I know, I'm a cheeky  !

Seem that loads of times on rovers but not a GP Andy:confused:

like i was saying i did run 3 thin cables into the boot lid at one point and removed them all a while ago no sign of anything sharp when i did the usual run a finger round the hole (i still have my fingertip)

managed to repair it (the fiat hose really is hard and not very flexible) and bloody narrow bore

still managed to repair it with the tubing from a Bilt hamber (yawn) dinax cavity wax tube and 2 of their brass nozzle connectors 2 bits of adhesive lined shrink wrap and a bit of bad language followed by wrapping the cables and hose in sticking plaster tape (none of the local motor factors had any cloth loom tape or connectors small enough sports shop had no cloth climbers finger tape so sticking plaster tape it was )

had a hose clamping set from my mountain biking kit (for hammering in connectors) so had no real problems tried a short length of goodridge stainless braided hose but it was too stiff
