Technical gremlins????

i recently changed the clutch slave cylinder on my girlfriends tipo it only has 26000 miles on the clock and hasnt been used for 3 years the car ran sweet as a nut but after changing the cylinder the car now refuses to start, doesnt seem to have a spark? ive tried changing the coil but still nothing? i removed the battery tray to change the slave cylinder and disconected the coil leads is there a common fault or am i missing something realy stupid.
any suggestions or tips would be most appreciated, thanks
