Yes I agree, Germany is a very interesting place to visit with so much history to explore and I spent a lot of time there in the 70s when I worked for Firestone. In fact we were in Germany - Hartz Mountains - with the kids camping when "The Wall" came down. We were able to cross into the east and visit Wernigerode, among other places. It was a fascinating visit. We bought food from a local shop, which reminded me what shops were like in my youth back in the 50s, and went to sit in the local park. It was immaculately maintained with several gardeners busy at work weeding and raking the paths. We talked to some of the locals who we were surprised to find were well qualified people - one was a university lecturer - who couldn't find work at anything else. Feelings were very mixed as to whether the fall of the wall was a good thing or not.
