Drove the Chicken to Morrisons last night for some emergency Quality Street, and found the drivers side headlight bulb had gone.
Having read on here what a job it is, I had a quick look this morning and with a combination of it being Christmas Eve, raining, my garage door being jammed, and me being a mechanical numpty, I have Halfords a call. They weren't sure if they could do it and said to bring it round, the bulb was 21 quid plus 6 for fitting if they could do it. I then phoned my local Fiat dealership. After asking the mechanics, the service desk said it was a simple job and they'd do it for free, just the price of the bulb. So one hour later I'm all sorted for £8.90!
Just one fly in the ointment though... When I got home, I noticed the scuttle was sticking up on the drivers side. Confused, I opened the bonnet, only to find a large screwdriver had been left on the scuttle and was distorting the plastic when squashed by the bonnet. Fortunately no damage done, but I dread to think what damage could have been done if the screwdriver had fallen into the engine bay whilst driving.
Still, all's well that end well, and I got a free screwdriver!
