Getting bored of my sporting...

I'm getting bored of my sporting at the minute, its costing me too much money for what it is and how quick it is.
I want something faster and will have around £5k to spend.
I have been looking at EK9 Civic Type R's and just wondering what peoples thoughts/experiences of these are?
Anyone have any other suggestions???

£5k will get you a really tidy ITR dc2, which is a waayy more impressive machine than CTRs especially the ek9 ones :yuck:

Fiat coupe 20vt, ibiza cupra, beemer 3 series, astra GSI Turbo, loads of nice cars out there for that sort of cash.

Coupe it out his budget. You can buy one for under 5k yeah, but upkeep is like a mini exotic. Tyres, brakes, wishbones.. and thats providing nothing actually breaks!

A Coupe would cost too much to run, Ibiza Cupra would be interesting, BMW 3 series has too much of an image associated with it, an Astra is a vauxhall :yuck:

True, a ITR DC2 is quite a machine but not been able to find one that I like for under £8k!
Ive seen a few EK9's and I kinda just fell in love with them! Dont see too many ek9 type r's about either which appeals to me.

Older model type -r will hold money really well now seen as though the new one isnt as good as it, wouldnt expect a big price drop or to find a bargain.

Cheaper ones have probably been thrashed or abused

Ones im looking at are around '98-'99 (ek9) so shape before the old one (ep3) and Jap spec, so will be looking to import it if I do go down the CTR route.

certainly will be rare in this country. Having had a look at em now, they dont look bad in type R form

5k? wow they've gone down in price, when I was looking last year they were still around the 7k mark. I'm not too fussed on the EK9, Id much rather have a DC2 or an EG6 but then thats me good luck with the search.

I like a nicely done EK9. A few around here.

The EK9 is an awesome car and widely known as one fo the best handling FWD cars ever, and what an engine as well as being a Honda

Although the insurance on them is a bit daft compared to say the Integra

I'm looking at getting a DC2 possibly early next year, and there are quite a few for 5k personally i'd want a UK car in Red though so uber rare

they're great cars if you can live with the interior. the engine and handling more than make up for it.
