Gears/Clutch problems???

Hi Guys, I have a 1999 1.6 bravo and in 1st gear when pulling away it feels like it is lacking power and is very juddery, in the middle/higher gears if i push the accelerator down too hard i think it slips because there is no bite and the revs go up high (as if you push the accelerator down when not in gear).

This has just started today, i was accellerating (fairly hard) onto the motorway and i could not change out of 2nd gear and then when if finally released i started having these problems, so i think i may have broken my car.

Would i be right in thinking it could be a clutch problem or is it more serious than that maybe?

If the rews go up and the car doesnt accelerate its the clutch slipping - new clutch

believe it or not i was hoping someone would say it was the clutch, i would rather have that than a gearbox or engine problems. thanks.
