Can anyone tell me where I can find the serial numbers on a 1.4sx gearbox. I want to order a new clutch, but need to find out if mine is a C513 or a C514 box.

Reckon if you gave the parts place the reg of your car they may be able to find it on the database?

I tried this but they didn't know. I guess I need to pull the thing apart then try and match up the clutch plates.

i thought a clutch was a clutch!!
if it says 1.4 ont he box then it will fit.
match the 2 clutches up and look for the difference!
Its a 1.4 Chassis, 1.6 Engine and 2.0ltr Brakes and half a Marea

i'll have a look on my old one tomorow and see if there are any serial numbers on it if i've got some spare time and i remember..
it's a 1.8 one though so will be quite a bit diffferent i'm guessin...
Could you not just take the car to the parts place and ask if they know? or do what shaun has said and just take yours off take it to the parts place and compare it? are you doing this job yourself or sending it to a garage?
