Technical gearbox and mounts

Hi,

Long time no post from me. But now I have a major problem with my multi. :bang:

Was on my way back on monday from blackpool and the car jumped out of 5 gear. Took it to my local garage and have just got of the phone with him. The gearbox is gone and it also needs new engine mounts. :bang:

Anyone have any idea how much this will cost to sort out?. from what I have read its about 45 for the rear mounts and 25 for the front mounts?. but how much is the gearbox etc??

just to update anyone who was looking at this post.

My local machanic has told me it needs four new mounts and a rebuild on the gearbox. This should then fix the car again. This will cost about 900 pounds to fix. I have given up on my multi and I am trading it in next week for a new car. I will still lurk around here but its bye bye fiat for me :<

if it only jumps out of 5th,then £900 seams a bit steep,as the gear box need not come out to replace 5th gear parts,you may be better getting a 2nd quote,before you sell your multi.

I have had a couple of qoutes and there are all around 900+ to fix the car. mounts have gone and the gearbox will need a rebuild etc. I have part-ex the multi at the weekend. but thanks for the reply.
