I have a punto mia 2001, Y reg. My 5th gear and reverse gear arent directly in line so it would make sense for me to have one of those gear sticks that has a bit that you lift up to then allow you to put your car into reverse, however mine has a bit you lift up, but there is no spring in it so if i lift i up it stays up, if i push it down it stays down. Sometimes il lift it up and it will stay up, then when im stopped and want tp put my car into reverse, i realise that its slid back down of its own accord. It took me a while to work out that my car actually had the bit to lift up. Originally I thought that i had broken my car and i couldnt put it in reverse.
Am i supposed to have a bit to lift up to put it into reverse? And if so, should it be springy so that after you've lifted it up it returns back to being down?
