Gear Selection Problems

Hi, I have a X Reg 1.2 Brava 80. For some reason I can't press the clutch pedel down. I wonder if anyone can help?

@ Malcolm. You should have put 'FAO Tom' on the message title anyway, but can you explain in further detail the problem you are having. At least then Ozric and I can pretend to ourselves that we can help you.

Can you not get the car into gear at all?

With a lot of effort I can just push the clutch half way down, not enough to get the car in gear.

Have you overfilled the brake fluid resevour?

If not i would say you have a blockage somewhere.

does seem like air lock in system.

hopefully just bleed the clutch slave cylinder and refill with fluid but quite a delicate job best done with a proper bleed system pump to prevent any air getting in whle working. Got a haynes manual?

Airlock would make it spongey.

Sounds like a mechanical failure, first test would be to watch the slave cyl as someone presses the pedal.
